During the strike on November 17, 2007, the cast of the show, along with host Michael Cera and musical guest Yo La Tengo performed an 'episode' of the show entitled Saturday Night Live - On Strike! At the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (co-founded by cast member Amy Poehler) in New York City. “Superbad” and “Arrested Development” star Michael Cera will be the guest host of “SNL,” and the musical guest is Hoboken, N.J., alternative rockers Yo La Tengo. “SNL” cast member Amy Poehler (above) said in a statement late Thursday that the theater is a “second home” to many of the performers and writers.
'Parks and Recreation' ended its sixth season last night with a ton of guest stars. As promised, the Pawnee/Eagleton Unity Concert hosted several artists: Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, the Decemberists, Yo La Tengo, and Ginuwine all appeared. Watch the entire episode below.
Wilco's Jeff Tweedy played the frontman of the reunited band Land Ho!. (He also appeared on a previous episode.) At the end of the concert, every artist came on stage for an all-star jam of 'Five Thousand Candles in the Wind', the anthemic tribute to Pawnee's favorite deceased miniature horse, Li'l Sebastian. And in one of the show's most incredible moments, a Li'l Sebastian hologram makes an appearance.
Ginuwine performed 'Pony' in honor of Li'l Sebastian (in front of two giant Li'l Sebastian banners). Showrunner Michael Schur told Entertainment Weekly that he loved the idea of 'a revisionist history where the reason he wrote it was because of his love for Li’l Sebastian'.
Before the Decemberists performed 'The Crane Wife 3', Colin Meloy said that the bun on his Pawnee hamburger was two full pizzas.
Yo La Tengo dressed up as Indiana University coach Bobby Knight and performed Night Ranger's 'Sister Christian'. The band was called, awesomely, Bobby Knight Ranger. There was also a set from the 1990s alt-rock band Letters to Cleo—Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) is a huge fan. And naturally, a few fictional Pawnee artists were in the mix as well: Johnny Karate, Mouse Rat, and saxophone legend Duke Silver all performed.

Matador also pointed out one significant Yo La Tengo/'Parks and Rec' crossover: Amy Poehler appeared on the cover of the band's 2000 7' 'You Can Have It All'.
