Appxmanifest Xml Windows 10

Windows

Jan 25, 2018  Windows 10 Store issue (with AppXManifest.xml and AppXBundleManifest.xml) Windows Phone. Not even DISM was able to fix them, nor the Windows 10 reinstallation (Note that I have Windows 10 Pro latest build). If there is an ultimate solution to this problem, I'm all ears. Even maybe a near-future update that fixes all issues with Windows.

Windows 10 Free Upgrade

Hi,
Since yesterday, I have noticed that a number of built in Windows 10 apps have broken.
Photos, Skype, Calculator and Maps have all disappeared completely and only appear in the All apps list under Other and all have weird long names (see picture attached). Clicking on them has no effect, they no longer run at all.
I have tried to uninstall the offending app using the admin PowerShell commands, e.g. Get-AppxPackage *photos* Remove-AppxPackage, but get the message:
'Remove-AppxPackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CF6, Package could not be registered.
error 0x80070003: Reading manifest from location: AppxManifest.xml failed with error: The system cannot find the path
specified.

I have tried to reinstall all built in apps using PowerShell using Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml”} , but for each of the broken apps I get the message:

I have checked out the relevant event log entry, as the Windows rantings suggest, but I can't make head or tail of it. Please see the second attached picture.
Does anyone have any ideas please?
Hope someone can help!
Thanks
Matt
